I can’t believe I am going on five years of doing Pure Saginaw. It almost seems like yesterday I posted my first photo on November 11th 2011. I started with a website HERE and it still has my first post. I branched out to facebook, and a new website, and I am amazed by the support I got for what I am doing.
When I started posting pics, it seemed like saginaw was at a low point, with high crime rates and businesses closing. Thankfully things have changed in a positive direction ( I take absolutely no credit for it) and I am glad to see it happen, and hope it continues. There are buildings that are gone, and a few new ones in their place, and living in Saginaw for a long time, it is something that I am used too. After taking over 50,000 pics around saginaw, I hope I am able to document some of the places that were here before they disappeared and save memories for future generations.
I have met so many wonderful people, and I can’t believe I have over 15,000 followers on Facebook and thousands of email subscribers to my website.
After 5 years of posting you would think I know what I’m doing, but for the most part I just make it up as I go along. I continue to research more of Saginaw’s past, and continue posting interesting stories from it. Yeah I know, my grammar and spelling ain’t to good, but I think of my posts as my thoughts and notes, and hope to sometime organize and edit my posts into a book or something.
Thank you so much for coming along with my on this journey and sharing my posts with your friends. I hope I can go at least another 5 more years.
P.S. I don’t make a whole lot of money from this website, but it does take time and expense to do it. thank you to everyone who got a shirt or calendar or something to help me out. I really appreciate it.
I hope you will Subscribe to Pure Saginaw, Facebook has also changed a lot in 5 years and they don’t show my posts like they used to, so if you wanna make sure you see what I post, I hope you will subscribe to email updates
