I see this service station was demolished recently, I am glad I got a photo of it about 2 years ago. Built in 1928 on the corner of Baum and Hayden it was designed by the Frantz and Spence architecture firm and was used by Galen E. Wilson. Founded in 1926 in Saginaw, the Galen E. Wilson Petroleum Co. is Sunoco’s oldest closely held distributorship in the Sunoco Distributor Network. Now it’s employee owned and they operate the Express Stop convenience stores around the Saginaw Valley.
With CMU building in downtown Saginaw, I think this would have been a neat location for something like a coffee shop or BBQ joint, but like many buildings in Saginaw, it’s gone now.
