Many years ago I had to do a project for history class for school about the Vietnam War and since my dad was in Vietnam I asked him about the war. The one thing I remember him telling me is that he was drafted right out of high school in the 60’s and he said he really did not know why he was there, and what he was fighting for, But the one thing he knows for sure is a lot of friends he went to school with died in Vietnam. I know some of my dad’s friends who served with him and were lucky enough to make it back home, I can only imagine what his friends that died would have been able to do if they could have survived. It’s with my deepest gratitude that I am thankful for the sacrifices that have been made by men and women who died. Also thank you to the men and women who have served and are continuing to serve in the military.
