My friends over at www.MichigansOtherside.com posted a link on their Facebook Page about a house in Saginaw in the 1860s that was haunted. The article posted on Weird Lectures shows a clipping from a newspaper article about a house that was believed to be haunted because of knocking on the walls and then it was revealed that it was woodpeckers. A few years later the people who lived there say there were ghosts outside the home and that the owner shot at them with a shotgun and they disappeared. Then it says the house was eventually demolished for a canal. That is kinda where I am lost or confused about the story. Looking at the newspaper article that is posted, it says the house was on Mason Street. I would imagine back in the 1860s there were not many houses on the west side of the river and I am not sure what canal they would be talking about. I guess I will have to see what I can find out at the library. I would love to read your thoughts about it. Here is a link to the article http://weirdlectures.com/strange-saginaw-spook-house/
If your wondering I needed a pic of a house since the house in the article is gone the house in the pic is on M-52 south of Owosso from my Lost In Michigan website.
