Downtown Saginaw firestone building

The old Firestone building on the corner of Water and Federal streets in downtown has a date with the wrecking ball this summer.  It is being razed to make room for the new Downtown Saginaw Farmers Market which will be next to the empty Saginaw News Building as it is transformed into the SVRC Marketplace opening May 17th.

I don’t know a lot of history about the building, other than it was used by Firestone, but I am looking forward to the possibilities of what the new market will bring downtown. Franklin Street will stop at Washington Ave to make room for the new farmers market. you can see artist renderings of the market and the plans for the inside of the former news building at the SVRC Marketplace Facebook page HERE or their website HERE

I hope you will check out my Shirts and Stickers HERE, they help me with expenses to do this website and they are proudly printed in Saginaw.
